ANNOUNCEMENTS

SNOW INFO

The Office of Public Works "Snow and Ice Removal Procedures" along with their "Commonly Asked Questions" about the snow removal process is available on the city's website: http://springfield.il.us/Departments/PublicWorks/snowRemoval.aspx. It can also be accessed under the "Residents" tab directly. Also available is an online map highlighting snow plowing progress during snow storms of 5 inches or more.

CITY OF SPRINGFIELD AND LINCOLN LIBRARY CLOSED MONDAY

City of Springfield offices and Lincoln Library will be closed Monday, January 15 to celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.

SMTD DOWNTOWN SHUTTLE

SMTD will begin operating their new Downtown Shuttle bus on Monday, January 15. This service will be available on weekdays running every 20 minutes from 6:20 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. and every 10 minutes from 11:20 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. The route starts at Transfer Center Bus Stop A and performs a figure 8 pattern around downtown. Look for the Downtown Shuttle signs and catch a ride. SMTD's regular fare will apply.

CITY OF SPRINGFIELD BUDGET DISCUSSIONS

City of Springfield FY2019 Budget discussions will begin on Thursday, January 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 300 S. 7th Street, 3rd Floor. All Budget workshops will be broadcast live on Comcast Cable Channel 18 and streamed live online on the City's website, www.springfield.il.us, click "Watch Channel 18" in the main navigation. The complete workshop schedule along with the proposed budget will be sent to the Neighborhood Associations on Tuesday.

ART IS EXCEPTIONAL OPENING RECEPTION

FREE and open to the public. An opening reception for "Art is Exceptional: Celebrating Student Artists of SPSb186". The work which was all created by students of District 186 is curated by teacher Elizabeth Marcy. The exhibition will be on display until January 26 in the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery.

FRIENDS OF LINCOLN LIBRARY WINTER BOOK SALE

The winter book sale will take place on Saturday, January 13 starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Carnegie North and South rooms at Lincoln Library located at 326 S. Seventh. Paperbacks, CDs, DVDs along with some children's materials will be available for purchase.

UIS STUDENT UNION RIBBON CUTTING AND OPEN HOUSE
