Thank You From the Boston Police Department on a Successful Marathon Weekend

Thank you to all our officers, as well as the tens of thousands of runners and spectators who joined us for a successful Boston Marathon weekend!

The sea of yellow vests highlight our officers…and there were many more in tactical gear and plain clothes.

BPD was joined by Boston EMS, as well our fellow first responders from BFD, MSP, and our federal partners in making the weekend, and Marathon Day a safe one.

Commissioner Cox greeted our officers with Mayor Wu throughout the weekend and along the route. Governor Healy, FBI Boston Special Agent in Charge Jodi Cohen, and BAA President/CEO Jack Fleming also greeted first responders and volunteers. Commissioner Cox met many of our partners and spectators, some from running clubs locally and around the Country, who were enjoying the spectacular world-class event.

Thank you to members of the public who took a minute to show appreciation to our officers whether it was in person, by phone or via email. We appreciate your kind works.

We're already looking forward to next years Patriots Day to celebrate the beautiful City of Boston!
