Under the weight of formed ice crusts trees growing outside the protective zones of power lines, began to lean to the wires, causing short circuits, and provoked the mass disconnection of customers.
Restoration of power supply of consumers in Kaluga region, which crossed the weather front width up to 60 km, caused serious damage to energy infrastructure, demanded a consolidation of forces and means of all branches of the two power companies. In the process and the results of elimination of technological disruptions energy drinks has additionally been cleared and extended the route of overhead power lines on the area of 503 ha.
A comprehensive analysis of the emergency situation and further developed and implemented technical measures would prevent the repetition of November events in the remaining winter months.
