Activity Overview: The 2024 Psychiatric-Advocacy Collaborative Teams Summit (PACTS): Bridging the Gap and Overcoming Disparities Post Covid aims to bring present and future mental health providers and professionals together in a collaborative effort to improve the care and support for youth impacted by adverse childhood experiences. On the first day, Friday, May 10, attendees will participate in a poster session, where they can showcase their research and advancements in the field of mental health. This will take place from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm to include a light reception. The second day, Saturday, May 11, will feature a keynote speaker who will further elucidate the conference's mission and inspire providers to collectively address the gaps and disparities exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. There will also be a panel discussion, offering instructional content, focusing on topics such as suicidality and enhancing systems of care. Lunch will include a networking opportunity fostering effective collaboration, continuing the afternoon with more specialized discussions, centered around multiculturalism, with the shared goal of bridging existing gaps in mental health provision.

Educational Objectives:

• Identify social determinants impacting equity in mental health care for youth with a special emphasis on societal changes post COVID-19 pandemic.
• Explain ways to utilize professional standing to advocate for legislative and procedural change to promote socio-emotional well-being of youth.
• Describe factors that result in inequity in diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues in minority youth.
• Formulate plans to establish collaborative teams to assist in management of mental health concerns in youth.
• Define how implicit bias can impact patient care in mental health settings.
• Increase communication with caregivers to improve care sustainability as part of the System of Care Approach.
• Apply knowledge to decrease the risk for patient suicide.
• Explain how a collaborative team approach could improve patient outcomes.

Target Audience: Physicians, Community Healthcare Providers, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Fellows, Residents, Medical Students, Social Workers, Child Psychiatrists / Psychologists, and anyone who works with children and their families.

Continuing Education for Non-Physicians: The UTCOM will issue Certificates of Participation to non-physicians for participating in this activity and designates it for CEUs using the national standard that 1 hour of educational instruction is awarded .1 CEU.

Accreditation: The UTCOM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
