Raleigh-Durham Essential Hotspots

Are you new to the Raleigh-Durham area (aka The Triangle)? Are you still trying to figure out where the main hotspots are that people go to hang out with their friends on a Friday night or Sunday afternoon? If you're new here or you've been here for a while and that information just eludes you, I've come with a few suggestions to get you started on exploring the Triangle!

Umstead State Park

Looking for a place to go hiking, camping, cycling, fishing, or even boating? You can do all of that and more at Umstead State Park. North Carolina's third-largest state park is just a short five-minute drive from Camden Asbury Village, and you've got plenty of outdoor activities to tide you over until your next trip to the North Carolina mountains.

Downtown Raleigh

It shouldn't come as any surprise that there are a couple of downtown areas that made the list. Whether you're looking to take your kids to the natural science museum, have Sunday brunch at one of many fantastic eateries, or simply grab drinks with your pals after work, downtown Raleigh has something for everybody. You'd be delighted to see how easily accessible all of this is if you live at Camden Carolinian.

Downtown Durham

Think all downtowns are the same? Wrong! While offering similar amenities as downtown Raleigh plus a baseball field where the Durham Bulls play, Durham's downtown provides a completely different vibe from Raleigh's. Experience a preserved historical sense walking around Durham's renovated factories repurposed for modern-day uses. Walk along the Tobacco District to see one of the most beautiful parts of the Triangle or check out a rooftop bar for a stunning view of the city. Keep an eye out for the completion of Camden Durham, leasing in late 2023.

Pullen Park/Dorothea Dix Park

Looking to get out into the fresh air but don't want to go out into the woods? Both parks, not far from each other, offer a lot to the residents of Raleigh. If you want to take your kids somewhere to play, take an art class, or just need a place to throw around a Frisbee, go check them out. Seeing the sunflower fields at Dix is a summer tradition for me!

Franklin Street/UNC Campus

Chapel Hill has classic college town appeal. Franklin Street is the location for most of the best UNC student bars and restaurants typical of a college town. While you're there, check out the UNC campus. It's regularly considered one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country! If you're looking to move to Chapel Hill but want to live apart from the bustling nature of a college town, you'll feel right at home at Camden Governor's Village. Check them out!

Village District

Previously known as Cameron Village, the Village District has many specialty shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. It provides a relaxing atmosphere if you're looking for quieter evening plans but want to be in an exciting area. Watch for a newly built Camden, Camden Village District, to begin leasing in the area in 2024!

North Hills

Looking for a modern and artsy place to go hang out? Look no further than North Hills. Just a seven-minute drive from Camden Overlook puts you at one of the best spots in the Triangle for shopping, eating, and exploring. Watch for events as things are starting back up.
