Webster Chapter of Sigma Iota Rho International Studies Honor Society Inducts Six New Members

May. 6, 2019

On April 28, Webster's Eta Alpha Chapter of the Sigma Iota Rho Honor Society for International Studies inducted six new Members: Ethan Berry, Hannah Emerson, Brandon Jackson, Wafa Osman, Daniela Piazzi, and Jermon Tillman.

Held in the H. Sam Priest House, Webster faculty, staff and chapter members were on hand to witness Olivia Potter, chapter president, award the certificates and honor cords, and to hear Susan Margolis Balk, founder of Hate Brakers, deliver a moving keynote address about the importance of standing up to hate.

Also at the induction, Balk acknowledged Webster's Elvir Mandzukic as the 'Hate Braker of the Year' for his behind the scenes work in fostering interreligious understanding. Sigma Iota Rho partners with local groups such as Hate Brakers as part of its mission to promote scholarship and service, as well as fostering integrity and the creative performance in the conduct of world affairs.
