UC Davis Makes Great Case in CASE Contest

UC Davis earned three times more awards than any other university in a recent set of honors for communications and development projects.

The 34 Awards of Excellence, given by the arm of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE, that encompasses five western U.S. states and two territories, were announced in late January.

'These honors are a testament to the tireless work being done here at UC Davis to ensure the university has the resources and platform it needs to continue to make the world a better place,' said Shaun Keister, vice chancellor of Development and Alumni Relations. 'I'm so glad CASE is continuing to recognize our efforts.'

It's an increase over last year, when UC Davis earned 21 Awards of Excellence from CASE District VII. As with last year, one project earned a Grand Gold, an extra honor that judges can give to projects that stand above the rest.

It went to the event in May that combined UC Davis' celebration of College Signing Day with the 11th annual SAYS Summit College Day, celebrating high schoolers and transfer students - especially those from low-income, underrepresented and first-generation college-going backgrounds - who have committed to pursuing higher education. More than 850 students from 21 schools attended the event. See recap video above.

Also earning honors from CASE in the form of two gold awards was the website Impact through Intersections, which showcases UC Davis' multidisciplinary research.
