Residents encouraged to experience new equipment before election cycle
The Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office will host a public information open house meeting from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, for residents to experience new election equipment that will be used for upcoming elections. The drop-in style meeting will be held at the Forsyth County Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Dr.).
'The primary change that voters will notice with the new equipment is that now they will have a printed ballot to review prior to casting a vote,' said Director of Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Mandi Smith. 'We wanted to give residents a chance to see the equipment and understand this new process before heading to the polls.'
Voter Registrations & Elections staff will be at the meeting to demonstrate the new equipment and answer questions.
Feb. 24 is also the last day for Forsyth County residents to submit a Voter Registration Application to register to vote or change their name/address to have it processed for the March 24 Presidential Preference Primary election.
