Tel Aviv, November 7, 2021 - A special opening bell ceremony at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange kicked off the 2021 Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an annual global project incorporating more than 180 countries and including programs and initiatives created by worldwide entrepreneurial communities. The project's goals are to create a global entrepreneurship network, to assist aspiring entrepreneurs in advancing their ideas, increase society's awareness to innovation and strengthen economic stability.

U.S. Embassy Jerusalem's Economic Counselor Larry Memmott :"The U.S. Embassy is pleased to support Global Entrepreneurship Week 2021 in Israel to stimulate local economic growth, expand economic and social inclusion and diversity, and open new markets for U.S. companies and increase global prosperity. It is great to see distinguished entrepreneurs and innovators from Israel and the United States coming together to exchange knowledge and share experiences in high-tech, innovation, and small-scale industry. These exchanges boost social and cultural entrepreneurship, and connect business entrepreneurs in the periphery, minority groups, students and young entrepreneurs to build sustainable relationships between entrepreneurs from the many communities in Israel. The full participation of all communities, women, and young people in Israel's economic prosperity is something the U.S. Embassy strives to promote. The United States and Israel share a special relationship, built on common strategic interests, mutual interests in trade and investment, a strong bilateral economic relationship, shared values, and deep people-to-people ties."

Ayla Matalon, Chairperson at Global Entrepreneurship Network, Israel, said: "At the Global Entrepreneurship Network, we work together to bring the message of entrepreneurship to a growing number of men and women, young and old. We want to show the way to those who have the potential, the courage, the patience and resilience, the optimism, and the ability to recover from failure, to rise up and try again, to explore and inquire, to create new connections, to establish and motivate a quality group in order to effect change. We open the door for you, future entrepreneurs, to help you realize your vision and make your mark and lead a creative and meaningful rich life. "

Sharon Friedrich Peled, Director of Sales and Market Development at TASE, said: "Since the beginning of 2021 to date, 89 new companies listed on TASE, mostly from the high-tech sector. The number of startups and high-tech entrepreneurs in Israel proves that entrepreneurship and innovation are the heart of The Startup Nation. TASE believes in Israeli high-tech and is the most suitable venue for the development and growth of high-tech companies, enabling the Israeli public to also enjoy the fruits of innovation and entrepreneurship, so unique to Israel among the nations, and driving the Israeli economy forward."
