Eesti Pank announces the competition for the research award dedicated to the memory of Urmas Sepp

Eesti Pank has announced the competition for the research prize for economic research by young researchers, which is dedicated to the memory of Urmas Sepp and open to young people who have completed their master's or doctoral studies.

In 2021 Eesti Pank will grant the award in two categories, with one award of 2300 euros for research leading to a PhD thesis or done as part of doctoral studies, and the other of 1300 euros for research leading to a master's dissertation or done as part of a master's course.

The competition is open to anyone who is under 35 when the competition is announced and is studying on a master's or doctoral course accredited by the Estonian Ministry of Education. The competition is also open to anyone who is under 35 and has already received a master's degree or doctoral degree from such a course. If groups of researchers enter the competition, all the members of the research group must meet these conditions.

The deadline for submitting entry documents is 15 September 2021. Please send the documents to: Rahapoliitika ja majandusuuringute osakond, Eesti Pank, Estonia pst 13, 15095 Tallinn or by email to liina.kulu[at] eestipank.ee.

Eesti Pank will announce the results of the competition on its website by 1 November 2021 at the latest. Eesti Pank reserves the right not to grant the award if none of the submitted research papers meet the required quality.

Urmas Sepp (1956-2002) was the head of the Eesti Pank macroeconomics department and later the economic research department from 1993.
