The genocide against the people of Gaza by Israeli Zionism with the help of the US and EU Imperialism has been ongoing relentlessly since October 7, 2023. So far, nearly 35,000 innocent Gazans, mostly women and children, have been slaughtered by the Zionist Israel.

While Israel continues its massacre of the Palestinian people, demonstrations in support of Palestine in the states forming the imperialist front, which provide all kinds of support to Israel, are being harshly suppressed. The recent harsh intervention by the police against protesters in the United States is a prime example of this.

The same situation applies to the European Union states. The General Secretary of CGT Nord in France, Jean-Paul Delescaux, was tried in the Lillie court on charges of "praising terrorism" for distributing a flyer calling for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine. He was sentenced to one year in prison, with the sentence suspended. This situation once again exposes the inhumane face of the fascist Macron government.

Today, Nakliyat-İş Union protested the trial and imprisonment of CGT Nord General Secretary Jean-Paul Delescaux for supporting Palestine in front of the French Consulate in Istanbul, clearly expressing our solidarity with Jean-Paul Delescaux.

Ali Rıza Küçüosmanoğlu, Vice President of the WFTU and President of Nakliyat-İş, made the press statement during the protest action attended by union executives and members. Küçüosmanoğlu, emphasizing that the greatest support for Israel's massacre is provided by the US imperialists, stated that the main goal of imperialists in the region is to exploit oil and natural gas resources.

Küçükosmanoğlu mentioned that solidarity actions with the Palestinian people have been held in many countries around the world, South Africa has filed a complaint against Israeli Zionism, and Colombia has severed all ties. Küçükosmanoğlu pointed out that Turkish Government also implements the intimidation tactics against the people who are in solidarity with Palestinian People. He added that some young people shouting "Killer Israel, Collaborator Erdoğan!" were arrested a few days ago during the May Day.

He also underlined that their demand from the Turkish government from the beginning has been to cut all economic, political, and commercial relations with Zionist Israel, and to cancel all bilateral agreements. Küçüosmanoğlu once again called on the Turkish government to cut all political, economic, and commercial relations with Israel and to withdraw from all agreements.

Küçüosmanoğlu stated that the World Federation of Trade Unions, to which Nakliyat-İş is affiliated, has organized many actions and events regarding the attacks on Palestine, emphasizing that the WFTU has always been consistently in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Küçüosmanoğlu mentioned in his speech that Nakliyat-İş has held many actions in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Beyazıt Square, Ambarlı Port, and in front of Consulates, and stated that their solidarity actions with the Palestinian people will continue in the future.

After the press release, Küçükosmanoğlu delivered to the consulate officials the protest letter prepared by WFTU protesting the imprisonment of CGT Nord General Secretary Jean-Paul Delescaux and demanding the immediate dismissal of the trial.
