2022 Featured Storytellers Announced for the 30th Annual Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival

Be sure to mark your calendar for the 30th annual "Haunting in the Hills" Storytelling Festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 17, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM (ET) at the Bandy Creek Visitor Center area.

Enjoy a fun-filled day of stories, music, crafts and more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and be part of a 30-year tradition and be sure to stay through the evening for the popular Haunting in the Hills ghost stories.

Featured 2022 storytellers

Pam Faro
Colorado storyteller Pam Faro has performed and taught storytelling for 34 years across the United States, and internationally. She has degrees in music and divinity, and in her performances, workshops and coaching Pam helps people experience connection, meaning, and joy in the sharing of stories and in deepening their own storytelling skills. Her diverse repertoire includes original retellings of folk and fairy tales, Spanish-English bilingual cuentos (she used to live in Ecuador), biblical storytelling, interfaith storytelling, and personal/historical narratives including the true story of her great-uncle who survived the Titanic.

Sheila Arnold
Sheila Arnold states she has been gifted by God with performance skills and has been using this talent since she was eight years old. She has been a full-time Storyteller for nearly 20 years traveling through the United States and sharing a variety of stories - "whatever fits in her mouth," as well as doing historic character presentations and Christian monologues. At her core, Ms. Sheila, as she is commonly called, is a professional imaginator with a passion, vision and ministry of healing hearts, unifying communities and reminding people to share their stories.

Laconia Therrio
A therapist, a chaplain and a faculty member of the Stamford Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, Laconia Therrio share stories from across the globe. As a professional storyteller he tells stories in schools, libraries, corporations…or wherever stories can be told. Believing that stories remind us more of our commonalities than our differences, his repertoire include stories from the Americas, the African continent, Europe and Asia. Whether folktale, myth, fable or scary, he invites the listener to discover the wonder of each tale. Laconia is available for workshops, residencies, retreats, and concerts.

Ingrid Nixon
She is an award-winning, world-traveling storyteller, who loves nothing more than to whisk away listeners on journeys of the imagination. Exploration nail-biters, lies, tall tales, traditional and personal stories-she tells them all, bringing characters to life using voices, gestures, and animated facial expressions. From Antarctica to Greenland, Madagascar to Easter Island, Ingrid's three decades of work in expedition tourism has taken her on a magic carpet ride around the planet. When not telling stories in the polar regions or steamy jungles, she performs and leads storytelling workshops for groups, special events, schools and festivals, including at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
