For the month of March, 10 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) posted increases on the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which ISPs provide the best prime time Netflix streaming experience.

Four different service providers in Taiwan all saw increases. KBro and TFN each rose 0.4 Megabits per second (Mbps) to 2.8 Mbps and 2.6 Mbps, respectively. HiNet and Taiwan Broadband both increased 0.2 Mbps to 3.2 Mbps.

In Latin America, Panama's Cable & Wireless Master, Argentina's Telecom, and Venezuela's Airtek Fiber all climbed 0.2 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps, 3 Mbps and 2.4 Mbps, respectively.

In North America, Canada's Distributel and Jamaica's FlowCable each rose 0.2 Mbps to 3.2 Mbps and 2.8 Mbps, respectively.

Austria's A1 grew for the fourth month in a row, climbing 0.2 Mbps to 3 Mbps.

Likely thanks to some of these service improvements, the country/region averages for Jamaica and Taiwan all rose by 0.2 Mbps.

Meanwhile, two services saw dips in March. India's D-VoiS and Kuwait's Zain both fell 0.4 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps.

Twenty-seven countries and regions were in the top performance-tier. The average speed needed for this tier shifted from 3.6 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps due to general Netflix encoding efficiency advances.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of primetime Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services/data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions.
