2019 Emerging Nations Program Hempel Youth Worlds application process opens

World Sailing is inviting Member National Authorities to apply for a place at the 2019 Emerging Nations Program (ENP) Performance Clinic which will be held in advance of the Hempel Youth Sailing World Championships.

Gdynia, Poland will host the 2019 edition of the Hempel Youth Worlds from 13-20 July and in advance from 8-12 July, sailors on the Emerging Nations Program will receive expert coaching and guidance from World Sailing coaches.

MNAs are invited to nominate a Laser Radial sailor who has not previously attended an ENP clinic and preference will be given to those who submit applications for female sailors.

The application must include:

  • Sailors sailing CV, including races and results;
  • Video footage of the sailor sailing into a windward chop, tacking (at least four tacks) and gybing (at least four gybes) all in over 12 knots of wind.
Please note it is important for World Sailing to receive this in order to guide decisions on selections and fully understand a sailor's skills as only sailors on the appropriate level will be selected.

Other important information:

  • Only one Laser Radial Boy and one Laser Radial Girl application can be submitted per MNA;
  • MNA's must be willing to approve the sailors entry into the World Championships (as per the notice of race);
  • Applications for places need to be received by Thursday 31 January 2019.
Those MNA's who have sailors already selected for the program, have received communication of this already
