TFD Responds to Residential Fire on Trescott Drive

November 05, 2021

At 11 a.m. on Nov. 5, the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a fire located in the 2000 block of Trescott Drive after the occupant returned home and found smoke inside the structure.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from inside the single-story structure and made quick entry. Crews determined the fire was located under the floor joist of the home and worked diligently to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

Crews confirmed no one was inside the home, and no injuries were reported on scene. Damages to the home are estimated at $50,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation by TFD.

TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County EMS.

Smoke alarms can provide the early warning necessary to escape a deadly fire. TFD will provide two residential smoke alarms at no cost to homeowners who are either physically or financially unable to purchase or install their own smoke alarms.
