Other Road Construction Work

New lane construction at Alameda and I-225

The Alameda I-225 Roadway Improvements project is moving to the next phase of construction. This work will be on the medians at the intersection of Alameda and I-225, including the on and off ramps of the highway. There will be periodic lane closures/interstate ramp closures during this time. Ramp closures should not be in effect during the peak commuting hours of 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. as well as 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., and will typically impact nighttime hours. Alternate routes are advised until this work is completed.

Please feel free to contact the project manager, Jana Krell, at [email protected] or 303.739.7640 if you have any questions or concerns.

Jewell Avenue East of Genoa Street Widening Update

The project to widen Jewell Avenue east of Genoa Street is being delayed to allow Xcel Energy to move an electrical line that is in conflict with the project. Xcel's construction work is expected to be complete by the end of the year, after which the city's road work will resume, weather permitting. The city's contractor will install temporary striping prior to Xcel's construction work to ensure appropriate flow of traffic until the city's work resumes. For questions on the project, call 303.739.7640.

Stephen D. Hogan Parkway Project

Construction has begun on the Stephen D. Hogan Parkway, a project that will create a connection to the existing 6th Avenue east of Tower Road and connect the existing 6th Parkway at E-470 to the east. The project will wrap up in fall 2019. Visit the project web page for construction updates.

On Monday, Jan. 14, through Friday, Jan. 18, east- and westbound State Highway 30 (East Sixth Avenue) between mile markers 13 and 14 (east of Tower Road and west of Picadilly Road), will experience delays for trucks entering and exiting the work zone. Traffic flagging operations can be expected to assist girder trucks exiting the site onto State Highway 30.

Flaggers also will be temporarily delaying traffic on Picadilly Road in both lanes, 300 feet south of the intersection of East Sixth Avenue and Picadilly Road to assist girder trucks crossing the street. The girders will be crossing between 6 and 7 a.m. Up to 10 minute delays can be expected during this time.

The trail at the bridge also will be closed for safety Monday, Jan. 14, through Wednesday, Jan. 16.

Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

If you have questions about the project, please contact the Public Information Team at 720.388.1180.
