The new owners plan to re-open this distinguished locally listed property in September 2021.
The former mansion house has its origins in the early 19th century and most recently, the mansion was converted into an aparthotel providing 37 serviced apartments together with flexible event space for weddings and events.
The property sits on 8.9 acres (3.7 hectares) of green gardens and parkland and backs onto the outstanding Holly Hill Park & Gardens nature reserve. The reserve spreads over 70 acres of woodland, with more than five acres of lakes, providing space for leisurely walks all year round.
Coldeast Mansion is located to the east of Southampton and west of Fareham in Sarisbury Green, a popular residential area situated midway between Southampton and Portsmouth. The main A27 (Bridge Road) passes to the north of the site and provides the primary means of access.
Jason Parker, on behalf of Fern Property Ltd, comments: 'The Mansion at Coldeast is a very special property that warrants the flexible and imaginative approach that best suits our company. We will breathe new life into this building through the introduction of a high-quality food and beverage operation that will sit perfectly alongside the generously proportioned accommodation units. Initially opening with a casual daytime dining offer, the Mansion will soon be able to offer six bespoke outdoor dining pods, evening dining, the 'Library bar' and the 'Admiral lounge' plus individually tailored events for discerning customers. Our primary focus is to create a high quality, well-run hospitality venue that will attract both locals and customers from further afield. We firmly believe that the Mansion will become the go to venue in this area, be that for a cup of Lavazza coffee or a private dining experience for eight under the stars.'
Adam Bullas, director in the licensed leisure team at Savills Southampton, says: 'We are delighted to have secured new owners for this substantial and beautiful building with extensive grounds. The new owners have commenced an extensive refurbishment programme that takes full advantage of the attractive surroundings and Victorian charm of the property.'
