North Half of Lincoln Way and Hickory Intersection to Close on Monday

The north half of the Lincoln Way and Hickory Drive intersection will close on Monday, April 29, weather permitting, to begin the removal and replacement of pavement. Marshall and Franklin avenues are the recommended detour routes. The closure will remain in place for one to two weeks. This will be followed by the closure of the northwest section of the Lincoln Way and Marshall Avenue intersection.

The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct for the reconstruction of Lincoln Way from Beedle Drive to Franklin Avenue. The work will be completed in eight major stages while the intersections will be completed as quickly as possible to restore access to side streets. The project also includes spot improvements to utilities and reconstruction of the shared-use path on the south side of Lincoln Way. For more information, see the project video at: www.CityOfAmes.org/LincolnWay.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution in the area. The work zone will have low speeds and narrow lanes.
