8/19/2022 - Sprague Avenue & Barker Road roundabout Update
The roundabout project at Sprague Avenue and Barker Road will not be opened to the public on Saturday, August 20 as planned. Due to identifying some quality control issues with some of the materials we need to delay completion by a week. The City understands the impact of this project on area residents and appreciates the ongoing patience of residents and the traveling public. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working closely with the contractor to complete this project and open up the intersection. To learn more about this project, visit spokanevalley.org/spraguebarkeras improvements include converting a four-way stop that experiences heavy traffic congestion into a single-lane roundabout that will reduce driver delays, widen vehicle lanes, provide improved lighting and signage, and increase safety with a shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists.
