Wirral RNLI lifeboat stations receive £6,000 boost from Royal Mersey Yacht Club

Representatives from New Brighton RNLI attended a gala dinner, where they were presented with the generous donation,which they will share with Hoylake and West Kirby RNLI.

The Royal Mersey Yacht Club held their 175th Anniversary Gala at Wallasey Town Hall with over 200 guests in attendance. The event in September was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside and his wife, the Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral, the Lieutenant Commander of HMS Mersey and his wife with members of the Royal Mersey Yacht Club, local Sea Cadets, Royal Marine Cadets and welcomed guests.

On 15November, volunteer RNLI crew members from New Brighton Lifeboat station were invited to an evening dinner at the Royal Mersey Yacht Club where they were presented with acheque for £6,000, which is to be split between RNLI lifeboat stations at New Brighton, Hoylake and West Kirkby.

The RNLI is funded by donations and legacies. The lifeboat crews from New Brighton, Hoylake and West Kirby are extremely grateful to The Royal Mersey Yacht Club for such a wonderful gesture.
