Paving Project to Start Soon on Route 62 in Hickory Township, Forest County

​A $720,000 project that will give motorists a smoother ride on Route 62 in Hickory Township, Forest County is scheduled to begin soon.

The project will include paving of 1.1 miles of roadway from the Little Hickory Road (Route 3004) to the intersection with Route 127.

Work will also include tree trimming, drainage updates, pavement markings, and new guide rail.

Construction is expected to begin May 13, 2024, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed in July 2024.

Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers and should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions. Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.

The contractor is IA Construction Corporation of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $723,777.77, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
