Police investigating Kmart shoplifting

Investigators with the Lexington Police Department are working to identify a man seen stealing several items from Kmart.

On February 20 an officer was dispatched to the Kmart store located at 2520 Nicholasville Road for a shoplifting report. Store employees said an unknown white man with a goatee, wearing a baseball cap and a Pittsburgh Steelers sweatshirt, was observed putting several electric razors in a shopping cart. The man was then seen putting something in a large white laundry bag and placing the bag back on a shelf. Later, the man came back to the shelf and put some of the razors in the bag and concealed other items under his clothes.

The man took the bag and left the store without paying for any items. He was seen getting into an older red Pontiac car that quickly drove away from the store.

Investigators today released surveillance video from the store. Anyone with information about the suspect's identity or whereabouts is asked to contact Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600.

Anonymous tips, including photos and videos, can be submitted by texting LEXPD plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Information can also be sent anonymously through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020 or www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
