New Ambassadors to India, Sweden and Luxembourg present Credentials

His Excellency, Mr. Akhilesh Mishra, Ambassador of India, His Excellency, Mr. Magnus Rydén, Ambassador of Sweden and Her Excellency, Ms. Florence Ensch, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg presented their Letters of Credence to President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Mr. Akhilesh Mishra, Ambassador of India, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Reeti Mishra.

Ms. Anne Rabbitte, T.D., Minister of State for the Department of Health, and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth, with responsibility for Disability, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present: Ms. Orla O'Hanrahan, Secretary General to the President; Mr. Joe Hackett, Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs; Col Stephen Howard, Aide-de-Camp to the President; and Mr. Gerald Angley, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassadors were accompanied to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Brigade Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Dillon McAuliffe.

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 28th Infantry Battalion, Finner Camp, Co. Donegal, under the command of Lieutenant Sean O'Rourke.

Captain John Carpenter conducted the Army No.1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.

2nd Lieutenant Andrew O'Connor, from the 28th Infantry Battalion, Finner Camp, Co. Donegal, was the flag officer.
