ACTS Retreat Set for Winthrop on May 19-22

WINTHROP---All Maine men are welcome to gather for a spiritually uplifting weekend at a special ACTS Retreat on May 19-22 at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop. The retreat will begin at Holy Family Church on 607 Sabattus Street in Lewiston on Thursday evening, May 19, at 6 p.m. and conclude on Sunday afternoon, May 22, at Holy Family Church with the celebration of Mass at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Round-trip transportation to and from the retreat center will be provided for all retreatants.

ACTS is an acronym for Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. This weekend is an opportunity for participants to deepen their relationships with Jesus, renew spirituality, give new meaning to prayer lives and Sunday liturgy, build lasting friendships, and further appreciate the virtue of service to God and each other.

Since the first ACTS Retreat in 1987, ACTS has affected over one million lives by renewing people in their faith and revitalizing parishes. Through ACTS, participants respond to their baptismal call as they continue to seek to know Christ and enter the apostolic mission of the Church. As a result, ACTS is acknowledged by bishops and priests worldwide as part of the Church's New Evangelization challenge to "go and make disciples of all nations."

The cost of the retreat is $175 and includes lodging, food, beverages, transportation, and all activities (Note: financial difficulties should not prevent anyone from attending the retreat).
