The Royal Government of Bhutan has purchased 250,000 doses of Moderna vaccine costing USD 5.55million. The first consignment of 100,000 doses of Moderna vaccine has arrived today and the remaining 150,000 doses will be delivered during the first quarter of the year 2022.

The first tranche vaccines is planned to be used as a 2nd dose for the children between 12 to 17 years and also to those adults (18 years and above) who have received their 1st dose of Moderna vaccine and have not received their 2nd dose. The second dose will be rollout during the last week of October, 2021.
