Today, Secretary Gina M. Raimondo participated in a joint meeting with Anne-Marie Trevelyan, UK Secretary of State for International Trade, and Nadine Dorries, UK Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

Secretary Raimondo and Secretary of State Trevelyan discussed finding a path early in the new year for both governments to engage expeditiously in consultations on steel and aluminum, with a view to combating global excess capacity and addressing outstanding concerns on U.S. tariffs and UK countermeasures. They also agreed to identify ways to expand bilateral cooperation on trade in clean technology to support decarbonization efforts in both countries.

Secretary Raimondo and Secretary of State Dorries committed to supporting and working with the OECD on common principles for trusted government access and agreed to take steps to cooperate globally to promote cross-border data flows. Additionally, Secretary Raimondo and Secretary of State Dorries issued a joint statement on the U.S. and UK's shared commitment to deepening the partnership on bilateral data flows and promoting the trustworthy use and exchange of data across our borders.
