Hess Endorses World Bank’s “Zero Routine Flaring by 2030” Initiative

01.26.2022

Hess Corporation is pleased to endorse the World Bank's "Zero Routine Flaring by 2030" initiative. The objectives of this initiative align with our commitment to eliminate routine flaring from our operations by the end of 2025, as part of our overall strategy to proactively manage our carbon footprint and limit emissions of methane and other greenhouse gas emissions.

Hess sees climate change as one of the greatest scientific challenges of the 21st century. We believe climate risks can and should be addressed while at the same time providing the safe, affordable and reliable energy necessary to ensure human welfare and global economic development in the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We support the aim of the Paris Agreement, as well as a global ambition to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. We view achieving zero routine flaring by 2025 as an important part of our efforts to support the transition to a low carbon economy and mitigate climate change.

We look forward to working with the World Bank on this important initiative.
