Army constructs Batticaloa Vinayagar College playground

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) provided its engineering and technical skills for the construction of the playground at the Batticaloa / Man West Pawatkodichchenai Vinayagar College recently.

7 Sri Lanka Engineers troops of the 231 Brigade of the 23 Division under the Security Force HQ - East contributed to the project at the request of school authorities, the SLA sources said.

The commencement of preparation of the ground has been underway with financial assistance from donors for the construction of necessary infrastructure in the playground.

Meanwhile, troops of the 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment organized a foundation stone-laying ceremony for the construction of one more new house for a needy family living in Muhavil, Jaffna, recently with the financial sponsorship of Reecher Farm Private Limited, the SLA confirmed.

Senior Officers and Other Ranks were also present at the respective occasions.
