Munich, 06/26/2022 -This weekend, on Sunday, June 26th at the Filmfest München, the new btf series King of Stonksnot only celebrated its premiere but also received the renownedBernd Burgemeister TV Series Award for exceptional production. The showrunners and executive producersPhilipp Käßbohrer andMatthias Murmann, director and executive producer Jan Bonny, and producer Judith Fülle were all thrilled with the trophy. The prize was awarded for the first time in the "Best Series" category by the three-person jury: producerSusanne MannandactorEdgar Selge, headed up by HFF president Prof. Bettina Reitz.

In their eulogy, the jury explained, "When reality itself is spiraling ad absurdum, when you don't know, as the viewer, if you should laugh or if you're already crying - when reality slaps you round the face, as it does in this series, from a team of producers, showrunners and authors who have long since discovered their favorite genre and are still managing to set new standards and celebrate what they do best… then you'd got a fantastic evening of television. King of Stonks dares to venture to places that we, outside of comedy and satire shows, have been waiting a long time for."

After the screenings, at the get-together, the prize winners celebrated in the Bayerischen Hof with other celebrity guests from the German film and TV industry including actors Rufus Beck, Michael Brandner, Caro Cult, Wolke Hegenbarth, Götz Otto, Axel Stein, Franziska Weisz, andAugust Wittgenstein, as well as filmmakers Christoph Bicker, Sven Burgemeister, Christian Franckenstein, Hans-Jörg Füting, andDr. Markus Schäfer.
