Dublin Council Member Amorose Groomes Appointed to Serve on National League of Cities’ Information Technology and Communications Committee

Dublin, OH - Jan. 22, 2022 - Council Member Chris Amorose Groomes of Dublin has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2022 Information Technology and Communications (ITC) Federal Advocacy Committee. Council Member Amorose Groomes was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC's federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities. The appointment was announced by NLC President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Georgia.

"I am honored by this appointment and look forward to advocating on behalf of programs and policies that continue to advance our region and our Connected Dublin initiatives, including fiber to the home and our partnership in the Beta District technology hub," Council Member Amorose Groomes said.

As a member of NLC's ITC committee, Council Member Amorose Groomes will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders in shaping NLC's policy positions and advocating on behalf of America's municipalities before Congress, with the administration and at home.

"NLC's federal advocacy committees are a key tool for gathering insights directly from the communities that our members serve," said NLC President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Georgia. "I am excited to have Council Member Amorose Groomes serve on the Information Technology and Communications committee and look forward to working with her to fulfill the promise of America's cities, towns and villages."

The full leadership of this year's committee will consist of Chair Chrelle Booker, mayor pro tempore, Town of Tryon, NC; Vice Chair Joseph Goldstein, council member, City of Marietta, GA; and Vice Chair Van Johnson, mayor, City of Savannah, GA.
