Houston Christian University and Houston Theological Seminary (HTS) are pleased to announce that Dr. Scot McKnight joins the teaching team for the Doctor of Ministry program, teaching classes and supervising students.

Dr. McKnight brings decades of teaching experience and an active engagement with the church to the study of the New Testament (NT). He has written over 50 books, including "The Jesus Creed: Loving God, Loving Others" and volumes in the New International Commentary on the New Testament, NIV Application Commentary, and the Story of God Bible Commentary series. Most recently he wrote on Revelation, the Sermon on the Mount, and Romans.

In 2023, he completed a fresh translation of the New Testament and The Second Testament (as a sequel to John Goldingay's The First Testament) that allows readers to listen anew to the biblical text. He and his daughter co-authored "A Church Called Tov" and "Pivot," diagnosing toxic church cultures and how to change them.

"I'm excited to work with Scot in the NT track of our DMin program. He is a superb professor who actively engages with students in their dissertations and their ministries," said Lynn Cohick, Director of the Houston Theological Seminary.

Dr. Phil Tallon, Dean of the School of Christian Thought commended Dr. McKnight's biblical knowledge.

"Dr. McKnight is one of the nation's most prominent biblical scholars, who also knows how to communicate to a popular audience. This mixture of scholarship and ministry fits perfectly with our mission to bring biblical studies from the academy to the church," said Dr. Tallon.
