Kildee Announces Nearly $3 Million for Local Health Centers

WASHINGTON-Congressman Dan Kildee, Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, today announced two new federal grants to help provide quality, affordable health care to Michigan children, families, veterans and seniors.

The new federal grants, totaling $2,985,217 and awarded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), will help mid-Michigan residents access primary care, dental and behavioral health care services. The following community health centers in mid-Michigan will receive the federal grants:

  • Hamilton Community Health Network will receive $1,194,815.
  • Great Lakes Bay Health Centers will receive $1,790,402.

"Every Michigander deserves access to quality, affordable health care. I am proud to announce these federal grants to help local community health centers continue to serve mid-Michigan families, veterans and seniors," said Congressman Kildee. "In Congress, I will continue to work to bring critical federal resources home to mid-Michigan."

Congressman Kildee continues to fight to ensure mid-Michigan residents have access to affordable health care, including announcing over $11 million and over $14 million in federal grants to fund community health centers in mid-Michigan, as well as grants for rural and underserved providers. Community health centers provide primary care, dental and behavioral health care services to families, particularly those in medically underserved areas.
