Interpipe passed the audit of Siemens, the German manufacturer of railway transport
Interpipe, a global producer of steel pipes and railway wheels products, announces that it has successfully completed the audit of Siemens, the German railway transport manufacturer.
Thus, an important step towards full qualification of Interpipe as a supplier was made. Once being fully qualified the Company will be able to deliver wheels directly for manufacturing and maintenance of a wide range of Siemens rail transportation vehicles around the world, including high-speed passenger trains, electric commuter trains, subway railcars, and locomotives.
The audit consisted of several stages. The German party thoroughly examined the entire production technology - from the manufacture of round billets at EAF complex Interpipe Steel and up to the machining of the railway wheels themselves. Siemens' representatives paid special attention to Interpipe's decarbonization plans.
Alexander Garkavyi, Railway Products Division Director at Interpipe:
- We could prove that we comply with all the most stringent requirements of Siemens in-house standards. It is a major step forward towards the strategic goal of the Railway Products Division - to become a certified supplier for locomotives and passenger rolling stock of one of the largest railcar manufacturers in Europe. Interpipe is going to fill the first direct orders for Siemens already this year.

Interpipe has 11 thousand people working at the company's facilities. During 2020 the Company transferred UAH 2.54bln in taxes to budgets of all levels and extra-budgetary funds.
