ACL Awards National Resource Center on Women and Retirement

September 22, 2021

On July 30, ACL awarded a new cooperative agreement to the Women's Institute for Secure Retirement (WISER) to operate ACL's National Resource Center on Women and Retirement (Center). WISER is receiving $239,877 for the first year of this five-year project.

The Women's Institute for Secure Retirement will operate the National Resource Center on Women and Retirement that will administer a program of national scope to provide education on financial literacy, retirement education, and planning for economic security in retirement for women, with a focus on women with low incomes, women of color, and women with limited English-speaking proficiency.

The National Resource Center on Women and Retirement will:

  • Work to expand the capacity of the aging network and center partners to make use of financial planning materials, some produced by the Center along with others, and will deliver model training programs;
  • Improve financial knowledge of the target population of vulnerable women by helping them plan and achieve retirement security.
  • Provide financial literacy and retirement education to help women plan for economic security;
  • Establish and launch a new one-stop financial caregiver web hub/portal to strengthen the financial capability, preparedness, and well-being of family caregivers.

Please visit the Center's website to learn more about their resources and activities.
