Start Date Change for Signal Replacement at the Route 36/949 Intersection to Begin April 22 in Jefferson County

Indiana, PA - PennDOT is announcing a change in the start date for an intersection improvement project at Route 36 and Route 949 in Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

Originally scheduled to begin on April 22, the start date has been moved to April 29. Completion date will be May 25, 2025.

The work will involve replacing the current flashing beacons with new mast-arm mounted beacons and installing flashing warning signs that alert motorists to the presence of crossing traffic. These will be located at each approach along Route 36 between Fisher Road and the Route 949 intersection.

​Flaggers will be directing traffic as needed during installation.

M and B Services of Clarion, will be performing the contract work at a cost of $158,125.
