Groundbreaking ceremony for Stars & Stripes Park

What: The City of Port St. Lucie invites the media to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Stars and Strips Park.

When: Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Where: Stars and Stripes Park, 12441 SW Village Pkwy, Port St. Lucie, FL

Why: The City of Port St. Lucie and Mattamy Homes will celebrate the beginning of construction on this
public park site, complete with a patriotic theme. The park will feature giant, gleaming star sculptures and symbols, messages, and inspirational quotes from veterans and first responders. This family-friendly 26.5-acre passive park is located east of SW Village Parkway on Open View Road, across from Del Webb Tradition.

Mayor Shannon Martin, Brad Keen, the Parks & Recreation Department's Assistant Director, and
Chris Barnes, the Deputy Director of the Compensation & Pension Product Line at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will be guest speakers at the ceremony.

Residents will be able to explore this beautiful new park in early 2025, and upon completion, the City of Port St. Lucie's Parks & Recreation Department will provide facility maintenance.
