Creating a conference center digital twin for the Bania Hotel and Ski Resort

The Bania Hotel and Ski Resort in the south of Poland provides guests with an exceptional experience, and that extends beyond vacationers to businesses and organizations who want to use the hotel's impressive conference center facilities. Able to accommodate up to 1,000 guests, the conference center is adaptable and can be arranged to suit various types of events, whether it's for an open-plan conference, partitioned with divisions, or a banquet-style event.

Hotel Bania wanted to give customers a fully immersive digital experience so even those unable to visit the venue before their event could get a clear idea of how this versatile space could be used to create their vision. With the use of a Matterport digital twin, Hotel Bania now provides exactly that: an entirely navigable 3D virtual model of the venue that shows off the great potential of this space.

We caught up with Hotel Bania event manager, Tomasz Rzadkosz, to find out more about the project and what he thinks about the Matterport digital twin of the conference center.

What inspired the 3D capture of this space?

We wanted to produce a unique dollhouse view of the venue for guests and visitors to be able to see it in its entirety.

It's nice to be able to offer some of the practical add-on features for event managers too, like space measurements, precise floor planning, editable tags to highlight specific features of the conference center, and useful links for them to refer to.

What are the "must-sees" you want visitors to explore and why?

It has to be the "Trzy Korony" - our biggest conference room, which has a professional stage, smart AV solutions, a retractable tribune and room for the event director to oversee and manage everything during an event.

What's the one thing you want visitors to take away after exploring your 3D tour?

The wide range of possibilities our conference center offers. We have so many ways of arranging the conference space that we really can accommodate almost any event type.

What are the benefits of Matterport digital twins?

The whole experience is very intuitive and interactive. It's very easy to construct and edit, and it's easy for customers to use.
