WPBFD Firefighters to be Honored for Brave, Selfless Response to 2021 Surfside Building Collapse

WHAT: During a meeting of the City Commission, Mayor James and Chief Matty will honor the 22 West Palm Beach Firefighters who bravely responded to the aftermath of the June 2021 Champlain Towers South building collapse in Surfside. Mayor and Chief will present each rescuer with a helmet shield commemorating their commitment to search and rescue. The City is proud of their selfless service to our neighbors to the south during the tragic event.
