Walker, Sims lead Knights swim teams in double dual against McKendree, UMSL

O'FALLON, Ill. - The Bellarmine University swimming teams competed Friday and Saturday in a pair of double duals against host McKendree and Missouri-St. Louis.

On the first day, Bellarmine's women's defeated UMSL 101-47 and lost 94-65 to McKendree. Bellarmine's men were defeated 73-58 by Missouri-St. Louis and 94-50 by McKendree.

Sophomore , junior , sophomore and senior placed first in the 400 medley relay (3:57.80). Walker also took top honors in the 1000 freestyle (10:39.57), as did freshman in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.45).

Sophomore placed second in the 200 butterfly and freshman took third. Holt and Witcher placed second and third, respectively, in the 400 individual medley. Walker finished third in the 100 freestyle sophomore, as did sophomore in the 200 breaststroke.

On the men's side on the first day, sophomore won the 100 breaststroke (2:05.07) and twin brother placed first in the 400 individual medley (4:04.24) along with the 200 butterfly (1:49.33). secured a third in the 400 IM, while junior took second in the 200 breaststroke.

On the second day, Sorensen, Noren, Walker and Roegner triumphed in the 200 medley relay (1:47.20). Walker placed first in the 500 freestyle (5:09.29) and 100 butterfly (57.97), as did Noren in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.72).

Schroeder was the runner-up in the 100 breaststroke, and Roegner took second in the 50 freestyle. Sorensen finished third in the 100 butterfly.
