The fourth edition of the SIAD International Oenology Award gets underway to promote technical gas research in viticulture and enology

The Bergamo-based SIAD (Italian Society of Acetylene and Derivatives) Group and OICCE (Interprofessional Organization for the Communication of Knowledge in Oenology - Canelli) establish the fourth edition of the International Prize dedicated to promoting research for technical gas innovation in viticulture and oenology.

The initiative is aimed at university researchers, technicians, students, companies and consortia able to develop new solutions in the application of gases, encompassing the entire process, from vineyard processing to the final moments in the winery.

Prizes will be awarded to the best research projects that involve the use of technical gases (such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, argon, oxygen) and enable an improvement in the quality of wines and production processes. The jury will evaluate the projects based on the level of originality and novelty, environmental sustainability, improvement of wine quality and production processes, expected benefit/cost ratio, time and cost of completion, and applicability on an industrial scale.
The Prize will be awarded in the semester following the application deadline: the winner will receive a SIAD recognition medal and €6,000 gross cash.

Nominations must reach the Chair of the Scientific and Technical Committee by e-mail, at [email protected] strictly by February 28, 2023.

The application form can be downloaded from the website dedicated to the Prize at the page.
