Young people in the fast lane

About 20 young people with cancer were hosted by the Tickford Racing Team, at Sandown Raceway.

'This was a fantastic day out and we extend a big Peter Mac thank you to Thomas Randle, and everyone at the Tickford Racing Team, for making our young people feel so welcome' says Kate Thompson, Program Manager at ONTrac at Peter Mac.

'Not only did they get to experience some exciting `hot laps` of the track and see the cars and facilities up close, Tickford co-owner Rusty French made a $5000 donation that will fund and extend support programs for young people at Peter Mac.'

A cancer diagnosis during the adolescent and young years can be highly challenging for young people and their families.

ONTrac at Peter Mac is a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who work alongside cancer specialists at Peter Mac and beyond to ensure all aspects of a young person's health and wellbeing are given attention both during treatment and in the years beyond.
