Inspections ordered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, in the Embassies and Consular Offices of some South American countries

The inspections ordered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, in the Embassies and Consular Offices of some South American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela) continue during these weeks. They are designed to ascertaining the proper management of administrative and consular practices and, in particular, the regularity of the procedures related to the recognition of Italian citizenship.

These inspection missions are part of a wide-ranging action, ordered by Minister Tajani since the beginning of his mandate, to combat and prevent illegal phenomena and to continue to improve the quality of services provided to citizens by the Foreign Ministry's foreign network.

As usual, the results of inspections - carried out by inspection missions composed of staff from the Foreign Ministry, assisted by personnel from the State Police, the Carabinieri Corps and the Guardia di Finanza (Inland Revenue Police) on numerous files and other administrative deeds - as well as the final reports are, made available to the relevant authorities.

The current round of inspections in the Latin American Offices, planned in recent months, follows the inspections already carried out during 2023 in the Embassies in Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan, aimed at ascertaining irregularities related to the procedures for issuing visas to Italy.
