City of Tulsa to Host Third Round of Racial Equity Dialogues

1/13/2022

The Mayor's Office of Resilience and Equity (MORE) is hosting its third round of equity dialogues on January 18 to coincide with the National Day of Racial Healing.

As part of Tulsa's Resilience strategy, MORE hosts opportunities for Tulsans to dialogue about racial equity in our city. Since 2018, the City has hosted more than 40 dialogues and reached more than 300 Tulsans and trained 34 dialogue facilitators.

Dialogues will take place in various locations throughout Tulsa from 6 to 8 p.m. on January 18, with a virtual option also available. Each dialogue will have between eight and 12 individuals, including trained facilitators. Tulsans are invited to register for a dialogue at https://bit.ly/Jan18Dialogue.

MORE has partnered with OSU Tulsa Center for Public Life, to train facilitators to host dialogues and engage Tulsans in conversations about equity.

In addition, the OSU Center for Truth Racial Healing and Transformation (TRHT)will work with teens around Tulsa for the 2nd year to discuss topics that are relevant to the youth perspective.

Participating schools include: Tulsa Public, Union, Holland Hall. Students who participated last year, will be help facilitate this year. This dialogue is part of the THRT's Monthly Changing the Narrative Series.
