Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan with the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries[...]

On 19 September 2022, on the sidelines of the "High Level Week" of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States Ms. Rabab Fatima.

The parties exchanged views on cooperation between Tajikistan and the Group of Landlocked Developed Countries, especially in water, energy, transport and socio-economic and environmental areas, the achievements and problems of these countries, as well as the implementation of major regional projects.

During the meeting, Minister Muhriddin highlighted the global initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon to declare 2025 as the International Year for the Protection of Glaciers and the creation of the International Glacier Protection Fund under the auspices of the UN.
