Come meet the artists designing public art for Arts Court

Ottawa residents can have their say on what public art will be installed outside Arts Court as part of the Ottawa Art Gallery Expansion and Arts Court Redevelopment Project.

After 148 international artists enthusiastically responded to a Request for Qualifications, five world class artists were shortlisted to come up with creative public art concepts. Residents can see the proposals and meet the artists at a public art open house.

Date: Tuesday, May 15
Time: 4 to 7 pm
Location: Arts Court Theatre
2 Daly Avenue

Comments collected at the public art open house will be taken into consideration as part of the Art Selection Committee deliberations.

The artists are:

  • Josée Dubeau
  • Adam Frank
  • Matthew Mazzotta
  • Christian Moeller
  • David Spriggs

The City of Ottawa commissions artists' works for display in public spaces. A percent of funds for municipal development projects is set aside for public art in order to beautify the space and make art accessible to everyone.
