New York Fed to Host "The Future of New York City: Charting an Equitable Recovery for All" Hybrid Event

March 07, 2022

NEW YORK-On Thursday, March 31, 2022, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host "The Future of New York City: Charting an Equitable Recovery for All," a day-long hybrid event featuring some of the city's-and the nation's-key leaders and thinkers on topics including the future of remote work, the prospects of big cities in a post-pandemic economy, and the role of transportation infrastructure in New York City's future.

The global pandemic was a historic blow to both New York City's people and its economy. This event will focus on charting a path to an inclusive recovery, featuring presentations and discussions on why New York City has thrived through pandemics, depressions, wars, and recessions; the future of big cities as a place to work and live; how to foster a recovery that addresses rising urban inequality; and big ideas from community innovators.

Event speakers include:

  • New York Fed President and CEO John Williams
  • National Urban League President and CEO Marc Morial
  • Harvard University Professor of Economics Edward Glaeser
  • Stanford University Professor of Economics Nicholas Bloom
  • NYU Professor of Urban Policy and Planning Ingrid Gould Ellen
  • U.S. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy Christopher Coes
  • Founder & CEO of BlocPower Donnel Baird
This hybrid event is open to the public and media. Limited in-person seating will be available by invitation only. All remarks are on the record and the event will be livestreamed with a recording to be made available afterwards. For media inquiries, please contact Ellen Simon at [email protected].
