Novo subpavimento da Corticeira Amorim incorpora materiais reciclados da Nike

Produced using the best principles of circular economy and environmental sustainability, Corticeira Amorim's new subfloor mixes cork with Nike's production surpluses in the North American market.

The Go4cork Blend underlay with Nike Grind, produced by Amorim Cork Composites - a Corticeira Amorim business unit that develops products, solutions and applications for some of the most demanding industries in the world - combines cork composites and EVA foam, from Nike's footwear manufacturing process (Nike Grind).

"It provides great benefits in flooring installations, such as acoustic insulation, protection against humidity and durability to the final floor", says the company.

For António Rios de Amorim, president and CEO of Corticeira Amorim, the product reflects "a continuous commitment to the circular economy, assuming sustainability as a commitment and as one of the strategic pillars of the company's activity".

The Go4cork Blend product with Nike Grind is available from Home Depot USA at www.homedepot.com

Nike reuses waste from this 1992

The reuse of sports shoes destined for landfill has been a mission for the company since 1992, fulfilled today through a global sustainability program that aims to transform Nike manufacturing waste into recycled materials.

Rubber, foam, fibers, leather and fabrics are collected and reused or processed into materials called Nike Grind. These, in turn, are then incorporated into new products, from the brand's footwear and clothing to their application on sports surfaces, playgrounds and flooring accessories.
