RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan hosts PRC delegation

The RA NA Vice President, the Head of the NA Armenia-China Friendship Group Hakob Arshakyan received the delegation led by the Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Chen Zhou.

The member of the Friendship Group Lilit Minasyan attended the meeting.

In his welcoming speech, the RA NA Vice President underlined that the age-old friendship of the Armenian and Chinese peoples is being strengthened day by day as a result of close interaction at the state level.

Hakob Arshakyan referred to the regional security problems and challenges and expressed his conviction that the neighborly relations between the two countries, educational and cultural ties and infrastructure development programmes can contribute to the establishment of long-term peace in our region. In this context, Hakob Arshakyan presented the Crossroads of Peace project initiated by the Armenian Government. "The support of the implementation of the project by China, which is always acting from the position of peace and security, will be valuable", the NA Vice President underscored and added that our country is making maximum efforts to establish long-term peace and prosperity in the region.

Touching upon the Crossroads of Peace project, Chen Zhou said that China supports the implementation of the project and sees an opportunity for cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road project.

Hakob Arshakyan and Chen Zhou noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Armenian-Chinese friendly relations, based on traditional close ties, mutual respect and mutual trust, have steadily developed and strengthened. It was mentioned that Armenia and China are successfully cooperating on international platforms as well. It was emphasized that the high level of cooperation is expressed in political dialogue, trade and finance, tourism, culture, education and other fields. It was noted that, in particular, there is a great unused potential in the matter of economic cooperation.

The interlocutors also referred to the effective implementation of inter-party cooperation opportunities, the activation of contacts and mutual visits at the legislative level and other issues of bilateral interest.

Ideas were exchanged on efforts to maintain and strengthen international security and stability and cooperation of friendly countries in this matter.
