Gallagher: Biden’s First Year Marred by Crises of His Own Making

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today released the following statement on the one year anniversary of the Biden presidency.

"Joe Biden's first year in office has been marred by crises of his own making. After launching an assault on America's energy industry - including canceling the Keystone Pipeline and the thousands of Wisconsin jobs that came with it - energy prices are skyrocketing. After passing a nearly $2 trillion wasteful spending bill, inflation is hitting 40-year highs. And after promising to "shut down" the virus, we've seen Americans waiting in Jimmy Carter-esque gas lines just to get a COVID-19 test, all the while he diverted money for COVID-19 testing to house illegal immigrants

"Additionally, too many schools remain shut down, our border is open, and crime is on the rise. But rather than course correct, the President has spent the past two weeks pushing radical bills to nationalize elections, called anyone who opposes his effort a racist, and questioned the legitimacy of the 2022 elections, which haven't even happened yet. This is crazy. The President's first year has been a disaster. He needs to stop governing for Twitter and start governing for the American people, or else his second year will just be more of the same."
