FPU’s On-Site Counseling Center gets $25,000 grant for services in Reedley

On-Site Counseling Center at Fresno Pacific University has been awarded a $25,000 grant by the Sierra Kings Health Care District to support therapy services for eligible individuals in Reedley.

On-Site is partnering with the West Coast Mennonite Central Committee Global Center, which will supply office space in its building at 1012 G St. A former shop, the center offers educational, art and relief programming and a social space to provide opportunities to learn about MCC and participate in its global relief work.

Additionally, the grant will fund three training sessions for community organizations in Reedley, focusing on the impact of trauma on children and families. This grant-effective from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025-was announced at an award ceremony April 4, 2024. Alisha Ganske, M.S., compliance officer, and Barbara McCarthy-Kerber, coordinator of site-based services and a clinical supervisor, were present to represent OSCC.

"We're excited to expand our reach in Reedley and partner with SKHCD to provide therapy services to the community. This is a very encouraging opportunity," said Angela Turner, M.A., director of On-Site Counseling Center.
